SANFORD, Florida - The rains came. They were needed, but they were unwanted during the tournament. Halfway through the awards ceremony, the down pour began. It could not dampen the spirits of the 2022 National Champions though as Seminole Sta
te Women's Golf celebrated its third straight title. A dominating win by 46 strokes over in-state rival Daytona State College. Future Oregon Duck, Minori Nagano (right) won Medalist Honors, repeating her win from 2021.
Nagano was joined on the "All American" honors list by fellow Raiders, Freshman Ayami Takahashi (3rd overall); Bradley University bound Grace Aromando (T6 overall) and Minami Kudo (T6 overall) who will be heading to Old Dominion. Freshman Tiana Eldem rebounded from a bad first round to finish T22.
Each of Seminole State's rounds were better than any round shot by the 14 other teams. SSC shot below 300 in two out of their four rounds. The Raiders lead every statistical category outright, except eagles and hole-in-ones. The Blue and Gold was tied for first with Iowa Western (3rd Place) with three eagles. The lone ace was logged by Tanika Yadilokwong from Dodge City. Her ace was carded on the second day on hole #3.
The Coach of the Year honors went to Christa Teno (left), her fourth such award. Teno commented during the awards ceremony, "this is a great team. Not just the five young ladies that played four rounds of golf, but 
the entire team of seven student-athletes who are getting it done in the classroom as well. It is also the team at Mayfair Country Club who did an amazing job with this tournament. Finally, it is also the fantastic community and college members who support our team and our Athletics Department both emotionally and financially. We won as a team!"

- Seminole State Golf has finished in the top 3 in the Nation every year since 2009 and was #1 in the NJCAA at the time of cancellation of the 2019-20 season
- The 2022 National Championships will be hosted by Seminole State College at Mayfair Country Club (May 9-12).
- The four Sophomores from the 2021 team committed to playing at four-year programs (Alex Giles, Incarnate Word; Ranida Inpan, Converse University; Mary Ma, Wingate University, Alexandra Stephenson, Georgia Southern) Â
- The 2021-22 team returns two All-Americans from 2020-21 (Minori Nagano, Minami Kudo)
- Coach Christa Teno was named LPGA Coach of the Year (2018) and inducted into the NJCAA Golf Hall of Fame (May 2017)
