The Seminole State College women's golf team delivered an outstanding performance at the Saint Leo Invitational, battling challenging conditions to earn a tie for second place in a talented 13-team NCAA Division II field.
The Raiders finished tied with Wingate University and Lee University, while nationally ranked No. 2 Barry University claimed the team title by 16 strokes.
Hosted at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club, the tournament featured excellent course conditions and fast greens. Strong winds throughout the event, however, created a significant challenge and pushed scoring higher across one of Central Florida's most demanding layouts.
Freshman Lili-Rose Hunt once again paced the Raiders, continuing her impressive collegiate debut season with a fourth-place individual finish. Competing in just her third collegiate tournament, Hunt fired opening rounds of 71 (-1) and 70 (-2) before closing with a 76 to secure a spot near the top of the leaderboard.
Darcie West and Rio Nakama also turned in strong performances, each placing inside the top 20 against a field loaded with NCAA Division II talent.
"Lake Jovita was in wonderful shape considering all the rain we've gotten in Central Florida recently, but the wind was definitely up and made scoring quite difficult on a lot of tricky holes," said Head Coach Christa Teno. "Lili-Rose played incredible golf in only her third college tournament to earn a top-four finish, and having Darcie and Rio inside the top 20 helped us secure a great result in a tough Division II field."
