Seminole State College delivered a championship performance at their home event, The SSC Fall Warm-Up, overcoming challenging course conditions to claim the team title against a competitive field that included Bethune-Cookman University, Eastern Florida State College, Palm Beach Atlantic University, and Florida Southern College.
The Raiders were led by freshman Rio Nakama, who captured individual medalist honors with an impressive tournament-winning performance, shooting even par 72 both days. Nakama's consistency and composure throughout the event earned her first collegiate victory and helped propel Seminole State to the top of the team standings.
Adding to the Raiders' success, Megan Fallon finished second overall, shooting 73,75 giving Seminole State the top two individual finishers in the tournament. This was Megan's best tournament performance since joining Seminole last year.
"The team showed tremendous resilience and focus throughout the event," said Coach Christa Teno. "The conditions were extremely challenging, but our players stayed patient, competed with confidence, and executed when it mattered most. To have Rio win the event and Megan finish second is a great accomplishment, and I am proud of the entire team's effort."
This victory marks an important early-season achievement for the Raiders and highlights the program's continued growth and success with all six players finishing in the top 14. Meyher Khokhar (4th), Saskia Owen (7th), Darcie West (9th) and Lili-Rose Hunt (14th). Seminole State showcased the talent and teamwork necessary to compete at a championship level.
