The Lady Raiders softball team opened its season with an exciting doubleheader against Lake-Sumter State College, earning victories in both games.

In the opener, the Raiders came out strong and set the tone early, cruising to an impressive 10–2 win.

Game two proved to be a tougher battle. The Lady Raiders struck first by scoring a run in the opening inning, but Lake-Sumter responded with one run in the second inning and three more in the third to take the lead. Refusing to back down, the Raiders rallied in the sixth inning, scoring two runs to close the gap, though they still trailed entering the final inning.

After battling back to tie the game, Jaleigha Harris (#10) delivered the highlight of the night, blasting a walk-off three-run home run to secure the dramatic victory and complete the doubleheader sweep for the Lady Raiders.
