Sherri Rabenold Selected for FCSAA Softball Hall of Fame

SANFORD, Florida - With all the excitement of the Raider Softball team's late season charge during Coach Courtney Miller's last season, another Raider is being honored this spring. Sherri Rabenold, one of Coach Miller's most decorated student-athletes is being inducted into the FCSAA Softball Hall of Fame along with Miller.

Sherri Rabenold played 2 years at SSC (2004 and 2005 seasons).  She led the team to an 88-37 record during her 2 years.  She started every game for the Raiders during her 2 years, playing 1B and OF.    Sherri continued her career at Rollins College where she was a two time NCAA All-American.

She set the school record for batting average her sophomore season hitting .467, a record that was finally broken in 2017.

Coach Miller said of Rabenold, "I've enjoyed Coaching a lot of fantastic athletes, Sherri is one of the greatest ever to put on a Raider uniform."

The Raider Athletics Department of Seminole State College lives by the Mission of "preparing Raiders for their Next Steps in Life." "Next steps" can include moving on with an athletic scholarship to a four-year university, an AA or AS degree or preparing to finish a bachelors' degree at Seminole State.

The Raiders were established in 1965 and initially led by Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach Joe Sterling. Seminole State sponsors five sports all competing in the NJCAA Division I.  Both Baseball and Softball facilities are located on College Drive on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus.
