Long-time fans of Seminole State softball will notice a familiar name on the field this season. Freshman infielder Skyla Durand, hailing from Apopka, Florida, is the youngest of a trio of talented sisters who've proudly worn the Raider uniform.
Skyla follows in the footsteps of her older sisters, Keivana and Dazha Durand, who played for the Raiders from 2020 to 2023. During their tenure, the team posted an impressive 113-57 record, with Keivana leading the charge in one of the program's most memorable moments—a stunning upset over Florida Southwestern in the 2022 State Championship.
Now, Skyla brings her own energy and skill to the infield, continuing the Durand legacy with poise and determination. Her presence on the roster is a reminder of the deep roots and strong family ties that help define Raider athletics.
As the season unfolds, fans can look forward to seeing Skyla carve out her own path while honoring the legacy her sisters helped build. One thing's for sure: the Durand name remains synonymous with Raider pride.
