SANFORD, Florida - After opening Citrus Conference play with two national powerhouses (College of Central Florida and Florida SouthWestern), the Raiders were looking at an 0-4 conference record. Since then, SSC has won four straight with a road sweep of State College of Florida and a home sweep of Polk State College on Tuesday.Â
Samantha Titzel picked up the game 1 win, the freshman from Palm Beach is now 2-1. Mel Bullock lead the offensive charge with a four RBI day on 2-2 hitting. Bullock's day included a home run in the second as the Raiders plated 7 runs in that inning and eventually won 13-6.
Game 2 had a similar score (SSC winning 13-5) and included another 7-run inning (fourth). Cassidy Ross (5-3) picked up the win. Izabell LaRoche (1-3, 3 RBI, 1BB) and Kiara Beltre (3-4, 2 RBI, 2R) joined Ross (1-2, 2 RBI, 2R, 2BB) on the offensive front.
SSC has on open Thursday and will be traveling to Eastern Florida on Saturday.
