SANFORD, Florida - The Seminole State Softball team swept the Miami Dade Sharks on Saturday. The Raiders won the two games in a very "blue collar" fashion (4-2, 5-3).
In Game 1, Cassidy Ross (cover photo) picked up the win. She surrendered two runs in the first, then nothing the rest of the way. Ross helped her cause by going 3-4 at the plate with a couple of steals. The Raiders tallied 7 stolen bases against the Sharks.
Miami Dade scored first in Game 2 as well, taking a 1-0 lead after the top half of the second. Seminole answered with 4 in the bottom of half on the strength of Kiara Beltre's (right) bases loaded double. Ross knocked in Beltre to complete the scoring in the second.
Samantha Titzel picked up the win. The freshman, struck out 6 and only allowed 3 runs on 2 hits.Â

SSC will host Santa Fe on Tuesday, first pitch is at 2 p.m.
