SANFORD, FLORIDA - The Raiders (31-6, 3-0 MFC) opened up conference play with a 3-game series sweep of Daytona State College (24-21, 0-3 MFC). In single game on Thursday
Keivana Durand allowed only one hit and struck out 10 in the 5 inning 8-0 win. The offense scored early and often building the 8 run lead after 4 innings.
On Friday Durand once again stymied the Falcons bats, as she allowed a single hit in the 7-0 route in the first game of the doubleheader. In game 2, things were scoreless until the Raiders exploded for 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to take a 5-0 lead. The Falcons tried to mount a comeback, scoring 3 runs in the last 2 innings, but the Raiders held on for the 5-3 win. Angelina Badalament got the win in the circle, as she went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run on 5 hits.
Paige Weinmann, Brianna Abel, Alisha Wagoner and Lindsay Corazzini led the offense as each of them hit over .500 in the 3 game series.
