SANFORD, FLORIDA - The Raider Softball team (#4 in FCSAA) had a successful week, going 5-1 to improve their record to 19-4 on the year. On Tuesday, SSC defeated Hillsborough Community College 11-3 and 6-1. Avery Brewer (upper right) led the offense that night, she was 4-5, with 2 home runs and 5 RBI's in the DH.  Keivana Durand and Angelina Badalament each ran their record to 5-1 on the mound.
 
Friday night, the Raiders hosted Miami-Dade in a doubleheader at Boombah Soldiers' Creek and sweeping the Sharks 10-5 and 8-2. Brewer and Rylie Brashears (lower right) had the hot sticks that night. Brewer was 7-8 in the DH with a double and an RBI.  Brashears was 5-8 and hit 2 home runs and drove in 5 runs. Durand and Badalament again got the wins on the mound and Tori Beland picked up her first save of the year in game 1.
 
Saturday the Raiders played in the CMI presented by Orlando Health with single games against Florida State College and Tallahassee CC.  It took extra innings, but Seminole defeated FSC 2-1 and then lost to TCC 8-0.

Tori Beland collected the game winning RBI in the 8^th and earned the win in the circle. The Raiders only managed one run in the top of the first on a single by Brianna Abel. The Raiders offensive struggles continued against TCC, as they did not manage a hit in the game. The defense was not sharp either, committing three errors and allowing several unearned runs.

This weekend the team travels to Columbus, GA for the NFCA JUCO Lead-off classic.  A 16-team elite invitational, with many of the top ranked teams in NJCAA Division 1 & 2. Seminole will play a total of 5 games over the weekend.
