LONGWOOD, Florida - Seminole State has a long and successful history against Indian River State College in the FCSAA State Softball Tournament. The 2022 team added to that success on Friday to the tune of a 7-2 victory.
Seminole State College got things started in the first inning. Taylor Thomas drove in one when Thomas doubled.
Jada Oleski earned the victory on the rubber for Seminole State College. The pitcher surrendered two runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.
Ryan took the loss for Indian River State College. Ryan went six innings, allowing seven runs on 13 hits, striking out two and walking one.
Seminole State College tallied one home run on the day. Shelby Williams went deep in the fifth inning.
Seminole State College saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Thomas, Paige Weinmann, Williams, and Angelina Badalament all had multiple hits for Seminole State College. Thomas went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Seminole State College in hits. Seminole State College didn't commit a single error in the field. Brianna Abel had the most chances in the field with nine.
The Raiders will face the #1 ranked Buccaneers of Florida SouthWestern at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets for the tournament can be purchased at the gate (cash only). The price is $20 for an all tournament pass or $10 per day.
