SANFORD, Florida - The 2021-22 Seminole State Softball team wants to start a new streak. For 17 straight years, the Raiders qualified for the FCSAA/Region 8 Softball Tournament. That streak was interrupted in 2021.
"I am excited about the spring (season)," stated Coach Courtney Miller. "We had a good fall. The Freshman really pushed the returners. That is providing good depth at every position. We have an experienced pitching staff and our hitting should be more consistent (than 2020). We will use February to see who steps up for a starting position."
SSC will open the season in Clearwater at the JUCO Kickoff Tournament (schedule is still TBD). The CMI (Courtney Miller Invitational presented by Orlando Health) will once again take place at Boombah Soldiers Creek February 19 & 20. Mid-Florida Conference play begins March 17th vs. Daytona State. The Raiders will host the FCSAA/Region 8 Tournament for the fourth consecutive year May 6-9.
