Hanely Takes Medalist Honors as Raiders Finish Second

ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida - One of the great joys of college athletics is when a Student-Athletes puts all their knowledge and effort together and has an outstanding performance. Tabitha Hanely (right), the Sophomore from Sarasota had one of those performances this week, winning the Flagler Fall Slam Medalist Honors. Hanely shot -4 (69, 71) and won by four strokes over Henriette Standa of Flagler. The Raiders (+15) finished second over all, six strokes behind the host school.Tabitha Medalist

The results for the starting five:
    - Tabitha Hanely - (1st, -4)
    - Tsubasa Kajitani - (3rd, +1)
    - Salysa Mason - (T7, +4)    
    - Kailey Kleinatland - (T38, +15)
    - Jacqueline Cingel - (T38, +15)

Seminole State will finish the fall with the Mercer Invitational (October 29-31).

RAIDER NOTES:
  • The Raiders have won National Championships in 2023, 2022, 2021, 2019 and 2015
  • Seminole State Golf has finished in the top 3 in the Nation every year since 2009 and was #1 in the NJCAA at the time of cancelation of the 2019-20 season (Covid)
  • The 2022 National Championships were hosted by Seminole State College at Mayfair Country Club (May 9-12)
  • All three Sophomores from the 2023 team committed to playing at four-year Universities ("Pearl" Banthita Phoncharatkun to Lee University (TN) and Ayami Takahashi & Tiana Eldem to Central Arkansas) 
  • The 2023-24 team returns two All-Americans from 2022-23 (Salysa Mason, Rim Imni)
  • Coach Christa Teno was named LPGA Coach of the Year (2018) and inducted into the NJCAA Golf Hall of Fame (May 2017)

About the Seminole State Raiders:

The Raider Athletics Department of Seminole State College lives by the Mission of "preparing Raiders for their Next Steps in Life." "Next steps" can include moving on with an athletic scholarship to a four-year university, an AA or AS degree or preparing to finish a bachelors' degree at Seminole State.

The Raiders were established in 1965 and initially led by Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach Joe Sterling. Seminole State sponsors five sports all competing in the NJCAA Division I.  Both Baseball and Softball facilities are located on College Drive on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus.
