DAYTONA BEACH, Florida – The Seminole State Women's and Men's Cross Country Teams both ran their longest race of the fall season. The Daytona State College Beach Relays were 3 mile intervals and the Southeastern University Short Course meet was 3k and 5k respectively. Saturday, the men competed over an 8k course and the ladies over a 5k course.
On the men's side, Sam Henery and Sebastian Kruger-Lagomarsino (aka "Sebass") both showed tremendous improvement over the 2021 result at Embry-Riddle. Henery place 32nd (54th in 2021) and "Sebass" placed 58th (71st in 2021). Henery shaved one minute and 24 seconds off of his 2021 time for a 28:49.17; while Sebass dropped a minute 6 seconds off of 2021 result with a 30:37.08. Joe Royston finished 53rd with a 30:36.64; Deandre Johnson place 70th with a 31:31.56 and Rey Permaul placed 93rd running 36:15.62.

Karis Guilbeau (51st, 22:37.0), Kate Ulmer (54th, 22:53.5) and Marina Brown (66th, 24:05.0) rounded out the results for Seminole State.
"I'm pleased with our results, especially on the women's side. We finished 2nd among FCSAA Schools and I think we can continue to build on this race. Sam and Sebass certainly showed great improvement over the last year's meet," state Coach Tucker Morgan. "This is a challenging course, big elevation changes and some soft conditions in certain parts. Good challenge for the team."
The Raiders will next run at the South Florida State College Invitational on September 30.Â
