SANFORD, Florida - In golf, the opponent is the course and one's self. Seminole State won it's (home) opener on Sunday, defeating NJCAA Region VIII rival Eastern Florida State College and NCAA Division II opponent Palm Beach Atlantic. The Raiders also won the battle against themselves during a very hot weekend and on a course that may not be as familiar to them as others in Seminole County. SSC shot +22 for two rounds (+17 Saturday, +5 Sunday).

Complete scores:
- Ayami Takahashi (Fr.) - First, -1 (74, 69) (right)
- Minami Kudo (So.) - T2, +7 (77, 74)
- Grace Aromando (So.) - T2, +7 (75, 76)
- Grace Connelly (So.) - T4, +9 (79, 74)
- Banthita Phoncharatkun (aka "Pearl") (Fr.) - Sixth, +13 (79, 74)
- Tiana Eldem (Fr.) - T8, +20 (82, 82)
Coach
Christa Teno summed things up, "We played well, really well on Sunday. We have a lot of things to fine tune, but I was pleased with our play and that we competed and won."
