Women's Golf Finishes Fourth in Flagler Slam

ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida - Great teams have great leaders, those leaders are usually the more seasoned players. The Raiders finished fourth in their second straight tournament on the strength of three sophomores, two of whom have been instrumental in much of the SSC success over the last two years.

Minori Nagano (above) finished tied for fourth, one stroke behind the eventual winner (Stina Wikstrom from Limestone University defeated teammate Ebba Hellman and Jessica Rathbone of Anderson University). Sophomore Minami Kudo also recorded a top 20 finish (out of 99 golfers) and was three strokes out of the top 10. Joining Nagano in the top 5 was Sophomore Grace Aromando (pictured below left) who tied Nagano and three others at +5 for her first top 5 collegiate finish.

Coach Christa Teno commented, "It's a tough course (Marsh Creek). Grace had her first taste of contention and managed pretty well. Very windy and the greens were firm. We are still learning."

The consecutive top 4 finishes has solidified Seminole State as the number one team in the NJCAA:
