SANFORD, Florida - Success never gets old. This fall was another successful one for the Seminole State Student-Athletes in the classroom. The average G.P.A for Raider Athletics was 3.22 during the fall. Twelve Raiders earned a perfect 4.0.

If the fall trend continues, 20 members of the Blue and Gold would earn Academic All-NJCAA status, breaking the 2020-21 mark of 19.

"I'm so proud of our Student-Athletes! We talk about academics all the time and stress that not everyone is a 4.0 student, but everyone can work hard and do their best. Thanks to our coaches who push them and thanks to Javon Alexandre and Tiffany Mobeck who advise them", said Director of Athletics, Kurt Esser.

RAIDER NOTES:

• 19 Raider Student-Athletes were named Academic All NJCAA for 2020-21
• Coach Christa Teno was named LPGA Coach of the Year (2018) and inducted into the NJCAA Golf Hall of Fame (May 2017)
• Seminole State and Seminole County will host the 2022 NJCAA Women's Golf National Championship at Timacuan Golf Club
• Coach Courtney Miller won her 1,000 career Softball game on March 17, 2018. The program reached the 1,000 win mark on February 6, 2020.
• Seminole State will serve as host of the NJCAA Region 8 Tournament in 2022 at Boombah Soldiers Creek

About the Seminole State Raiders:

The Raider Athletics Department of Seminole State College was established in 1965 and initially led by Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach Joe Sterling. Seminole State sponsors five sports all competing in the NJCAA Division I.  Both Baseball and Softball facilities are located on College Drive on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus.
