SANFORD, Florida - The Seminole State Baseball team continued its winning ways on Tuesday, taking a 5-4 decision over Daytona State College in a non-conference match up at the Jack. The Raiders have now won 4 straight after a disappointing opening weekend.
After SSC spotted the Falcons 3 in the first and a run in the second, the blue and gold pitching staff settled into a groove, allowing only 2 more hits the rest of the game. Chris Fagot (1-0) picked up the win, and Chris Zupito collected a save. Offensively, the Raiders were lead by Qdoba Player of the Game, Cameron King. King went 3-5 with 3 RBI. His last RBI came in the bottom of the 8th, knocking in Anthony Saleeba for the go ahead run. Saleeba was 2-4 and an RBI.
Also of note this week, Sophomore Carter Krawchuk (USF Signee) was named FCSAA Pitcher of the Week. Krawchuk (right)Â threw his second no-hitter in less that 12 months in a 7-0 win vs. Tallahassee. Krawchuk's last no-hitter was a perfect game vs. Hillsborough on April 13th of 2024.
Seminole State will play in St. Johns River's tournament with games on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The next home game will be Thursday, February 13th in the Citrus Conference opener vs. the State College of Florida.
