SANFORD, Florida - The defending National Champions, College of Central Florida came to the Jack on Thursday and the Raiders took care of business with an offensive explosion, 18-10 (8 innings). Danny Ramirez 2-run blast in the bottom of the first sparked the Seminole onslaught. Jacob Green's grandslam in the second was part of an 8-run inning.
The Patriots kept things interesting and got as close as a 2-run deficit in the top half of the seventh. SSC countered with two in the bottom half and 4 in the bottom of the eighth. Johnnie Lopez (right) got the game winning RBI and earned the Qdoba Player of the Game.
The Raiders will travel to Ocala on Saturday for the doubleheader vs. CF. On Tuesday, SSC will play at Eastern Florida in a non-conference match-up.
