SANFORD, Florida - The Seminole State Baseball team defeated the St. Johns River Vikings in a thrilling 11-inning game 3, 3-2 late Sunday afternoon. The Raiders now advance to the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Championships for the first time since 2013. Christian Webb (right with Coach Mike Nicholson) scored on a single to left field by Jaylen Youngs (2-4 2RBI, 1BB) and then it was dogpile time!

Cameron Carter threw seven innings allowing only two runs, no walks and striking out four. Garrett Hester pickup the win in four innings of relief, striking out five and did not allow a run.

The Raiders won game 1 on Saturday, 5-1. Rese Brown, the freshman transfer (USF) from Apopka was brilliant in the complete game win. Brown retired 19 straight Viking batters; throwing 11 strikeouts and allowing only the one run on 2 hits. Hunter Noblitt and Miles Bowens lead the offense for SSC. Both smacked homeruns in the second inning. Noblitt's was a 2-run shot and Bowens' homerun ball might just now have landed.

Seminole's tournament opener will be on Wednesday May 5 at 7:00 p.m. at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, FL. Game time is 7 p.m. Fans are permitted.
