SANFORD, Florida - With successful fall campaigns in Cross Country and Women's Golf, SSC announced updates to the spring COVID 19 recovery plan. The Athletics department will announce full Baseball, Softball & Women's Golf schedules during the next several days. What will be missing from the home games is fans. The teams will compete without fans during the 2021 campaign. To offset the lack of fans, SSC plans on live streaming every game on campus.
Fans will be allowed at off campus games/events, including:
- Baseball vs. St. Petersburg College – Historic Sanford Stadium – February 1
- CMI (Soldiers Creek Softball Complex) – February 19-21
- SSC Spring Break (Timacuan Golf Club) – March 8-10
- FCSAA Region 8 Softball Championships (Soldiers Creek Softball Complex) – May 7-10
Director of Athletics, Kurt Esser stated, "During the fall, we performed over 5,000 temp and symptom checks on our student-athletes. We've got a good protocol down. The spring will bring additional challenges with added games, but we'll be ready. The FCSAA Athletic Directors have been working together to ensure good game day communication and safety checks."
