Baseball, Softball and Women's Golf All in Playoff Mode

SANFORD, Florida - The Seminole State Women's Golf, Softball and Baseball Teams are all looking for hardware, championship hardware. The Women's Golf team (right) has won the Regional title and will be playing up in Ormond Beach May 10-13th.Region 8 champs

The Softball team will begin the tall task of playing road Mid-Florida Conference playoff games beginning on Wednesday at Daytona State College (4 p.m.). If the Raiders can win the single game, they would then travel to Gainesville for a best of three game series with Santa Fe College. Two games will be played on Thursday and one, if necessary, game on Friday. Times are to be determined.

The Baseball team will host the MFC playoffs on Saturday and Sunday at the Jack. Both days will begin at 11 a.m. and allow a limited number of fans for all participating teams (Each team must provide a list for their guests). Game 1 will feature St. Johns River State College vs. the College of Central at 11 a.m. The winner of that game will play Seminole State in a three game series. The first of those games will begin 30 minutes after the completion of Game 1. The second and third games of the series will be played on Sunday (11 a.m. and if necessary, 30 minutes after the 11 a.m. game).

RAIDER NOTES:

  • 16 Raider Student-Athletes were Academic All-NJCAA in 2019-20
  • Coach Christa Teno was named LPGA Coach of the Year (2018) and inducted into the NJCAA Golf Hall of Fame (May 2017)
  • Seminole State and Seminole County will host the 2022 NJCAA Women's Golf National Championship at Timacuan Golf Club
  • Coach Courtney Miller won her 1,000 career Softball game on March 17, 2018. The program reached the 1,000 win mark on February 6, 2020.
  • Seminole State will serve as host of the NJCAA Region 8 Tournament in 2021 and 2022 at Boombah Soldiers Creek

About the Seminole State Raiders:

The Raider Athletics Department of Seminole State College was established in 1965 and initially led by Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach Joe Sterling. Seminole State sponsors five sports all competing in the NJCAA Division I.  Both Baseball and Softball facilities are located on College Drive on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus.
