SANFORD, Florida - The Seminole State Baseball game versus the Mid-Florida Conference leaders, Santa Fe, was suspended due to darkness at 10-10 after 13 gut-wrenching innings. The game will resume on April 19th when the Raiders travel up to Gainesville for the final game (plus) of this exhausting series.

This affair was nip and tuck the whole way and deserved to go extra innings. Seminole got things rolling early with a run in the first. SSC could not build on its lead as it had done in the first two games. Santa Fe answered with two in the second and two in the third. The Raiders rallied for three in the bottom of the third and the Saints went back on top 5-4 in the top of the fourth. Seminole tied the game in the sixth at 5-5.

Things did look bleak for Seminole in the eighth as the Saints plated five runs to claim a 10-5 lead. As the Raiders have done all year and twice before in this game, they battled back. SSC got one across in the 8th inning leaving the bases loaded and four in the 9th leaving a man on third. There was no scoring in the 10th, 11th, 12th or the 13th. 

On the offensive side, Marcos Sevillano, Hunter Noblitt and Jaylen Youngs all collected three hits. Edgar Alvarez and Luke Hatcher got two hits apiece. Youngs (3) and Sevillano (2) were leaders in the RBI column. Cameron Carter got the start for the Raiders, Garrett Hester, Andrew Spolyar, Michael Guerrero, Luke Dexterhouse and Rese Brown also got some action in relief.

The Raiders still have won 9 out of last 12 and sit in a tie in the loss column with the College of Central Florida. The Saints are two games up and St. Johns River is two games behind SSC in the dogfight that is the Mid-Florida Conference. Santa Fe and CF are set to clash next week.

Seminole will host Daytona State at 2 pm on Monday. This will begin a three game series with the Falcons. The game will be streamed free via the Raiders Ustream account (https://video.ibm.com/channel/mK2cYDfXTtS). Fans are not allowed at on campus games.
