AUBURNDALE, Florida - Two days, two tense games and two come-from-behind wins for the Raiders. The Seminole State Baseball team defeated Palm Beach State 8-7 on the second day of the Ed Davis Juco Kickoff Tournament.

Similar to the opener, SSC continued to battle back from deficits on multiple occasions. With the Panthers out to an early 1-0 lead, Freshman Asher Akridge (right) crushed a grand slam in his first collegiate at bat, giving the Raiders a 4-1 lead after two innings. Palm Beach answered with 4 of its own in the top of the third, immediately after a brief weather delay.Â
In the bottom of the sixth, Seminole claimed the lead for good with another 4-run inning. Christian Webb (3-4, 2H, 1 2B. 1 R), Luke Hatcher (3-3, 2R, 3 H, 1 HBP) and Zach Levenson (1-4, 1 BB, 1 2B and 3 RBI) joined Akridge (1-2, 1R, 4RBI, 1HR) as the offensive punch. Carson Crossley picked up the win, throwing 3 1/3 innings allowing only one hit and striking out 8. Andrew Spolyar notched the save with two strikeouts in an inning of work.Â
The Raiders will host their home opener on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Jack Pantelias Field (aka "The Jack") versus South Florida State College. Since fans are not permitted on campus, the game will be live streamed via the athletic department's twitter account @buildingRaiders.
